Budweiser who is the official sponsor of the 'Man of the Match' trophy for the FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010, selected Jonathan and Snapp from an array of local designers and artists to develop and manufacture 64 trophies for each match played at the first ever African World Cup. The trophy takes its inspiration from the Djembe Drum and is reflective of African and South African culture. The trophy is produced from reclaimed railway sleepers together with hand blown glass and incorporates small shards of recycled glass Budweiser bottles cast into the soccer ball like motif on the trophy top . |
